Marie Elizabeth Josephine Pitt (née McKeown) was born in Bulumwaal, Victoria, on 6 August 1869.

She married William Henry Pitt in 1893 (who died in 1912).

Marie Pitt wrote for various publications, including Birth, The Bulletin, Clarion, and The Socialist.

She died in Kew, Victoria, on 20 May 1948.
